Mr Milanpal Singh
Head of Learning and Development

Every child deserves an educator who can see both where they are today and who they can become tomorrow.

Milan brings a wealth of educational leadership experience as a former MOE teacher, national curriculum developer and PSLE marker. With over a decade of experience teaching English and Mathematics, his work within MOE included developing Singapore’s latest national primary curricula for both English and Mathematics. He has also led professional development teams and guided the academic and personal growth of more than 1,000 pupils.

Through years of preparing pupils for the PSLE, Milan brings a deep understanding of the examination syllabuses, effective preparation strategies, assessment procedures and national marking standards. He uses this insight to help pupils prepare with greater clarity, purpose and confidence, so they can demonstrate what they truly know when it matters most.

For parents, this means their child is supported by an educator who understands the entire learning journey, from how the national curriculum is designed to how knowledge and skills are assessed. Milan turns this expertise into clear, practical teaching that helps children understand difficult concepts, correct misconceptions and apply what they have learnt independently.

His contributions have earned him multiple MOE Outstanding Contribution Awards, both individually and as part of a team, as well as Most Inspiring Teacher and Most Caring Teacher awards.

In 2026, Milan was interviewed by The Straits Times for its Smart Parenting feature on PSLE time management. He shared why time management is the bridge between ability and marks, and why true progress cannot come at the expense of accuracy. This reflects his wider approach to teaching: look beyond the score, identify what is holding the child back and provide the precise support needed for improvement.

What sets Milan apart is the way he combines high care with high expectations. He recognises the potential in every child, identifies the support they need and guides them towards meaningful progress that builds lasting confidence. Guided by his Head, Heart and Hands philosophy, he develops understanding, character and the ability to put learning into action.

Milan uses educational technology purposefully to deepen learning and develop greater independence. Pupils and parents especially value his ability to make complex concepts clear, relatable and manageable while preserving the depth and rigour of each lesson. He breaks challenging ideas into logical steps, connects new knowledge to what pupils already understand and guides them towards applying their learning with confidence. As a result, children gain more than the correct answer. They develop a lasting understanding of how to think, learn and succeed independently.

Milan believes that parents should never be kept at the edge of their child’s learning. He values honest conversations, clear next steps and close partnership with every family. Parents know their children best, while educators understand the learning process. When both work together, children receive the consistent support they need to thrive.

Milan holds himself to a simple but demanding standard: every lesson must move the child forward, every conversation must give parents greater clarity, and every pupil must leave knowing that someone truly believes in what they can become.

Beyond the classroom, Milan’s life is firmly grounded in his faith and close family ties. He treasures meaningful time with his family and loved ones, and serves in church, where he seeks to encourage and be a blessing to those around him. These relationships and his commitment to serving others shape the care, humility and sense of purpose he brings to education. In his quieter moments, Milan enjoys following Formula 1 and cheering on his beloved football team.
